Will Aid

Will-Power makes a differenceWill-Power makes a difference

Solicitors in this area have proved that their Will-power can make a real difference.  By writing Wills for local people without charging their normal fee, they have raised more than ever in charity donations from satisfied clients.

The money raised has been shared between the nine Will Aid charities (ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire) and will provide vital funds to help people to build their communities and improve their future in the UK and around the world.

The scheme, which runs each November,  is designed to encourage people to protect their families by ensuring they have a properly drafted Will as well supporting popular charities.  Nationwide, the last campaign has raised over £1.1m and helped over 14,000 to make their Will.

Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid campaign Director, says:

Will Aid has made such a real and positive difference to those in need of a hand up over the years. This would not have been achieved without the hard work of our enthusiastic solicitors and the generosity of the clients they have helped to make a Will. I would like to thank all the solicitors and Will-makers in this area who took part and donated so much. I am constrantly amazed by the support that solicitors give to the scheme and the work that they put into it to raise such an impressive amount. The participating charities are really grateful for the life- changing work this makes possible.”

The Will Aid scheme will run again in November 2016 and welcomes any solicitors in this area who would like to take part and show their local community that they care. For more information about how to take part, please visit: www.willaid.org.uk or phone 0300 0300 013.
